Country superstar Kenny Chesney pulled the U.S. Cellular Coliseum into positive territory in September.
Chesney’s sold-out concert Sept. 17 helped record a nearly $65,000 profit for the Coliseum for the month and helped the year-to-date numbers cross into the black by $3,234, said building operators Central Illinois Arena Management.
The monthly financial report for September was released Thursday by the city of Bloomington.
Chesney’s concert drew 8,256 people to a building that has an average of 7,500 seats.
A tailgate party held prior to the concert drew about 2,500, according to the attendance figures released in the report.
