This is awesome! Even though I probably won’t get to go, it’s really cool to see Kenny doing things other than touring!
Country music stars George Strait, Kenny Chesney and Taylor Swift are among those scheduled to perform during next year’s Cheyenne Frontier Days.
All three have played during past Frontier Days.
Sawyer Brown, Rodney Atkins, Kellie Pickler and Jake Owen also are included in next year’s lineup.
One change planned for next year’s music acts is an area previously known as “standing room only” will now be called the “Party Zone.” Fans will be able to gain earlier access to shows and mingle before the start of the performance.
People who buy tickets to the George Strait, Taylor Swift or Kenny Chesney shows also will get free “Party Zone” tickets to Sawyer Brown and Rodney Atkins.
Congratulations, Kenny! You deserve every award you can get!
Kenny Chesney’s Poets & Pirates Tour ended more than two months ago, but its impact is still being felt.
Last week, Kenny received the Top Package honor during the fifth annual Billboard Touring Awards in New York. Most of Kenny’s stadium shows featured Keith Urban, LeAnn Rimes, Gary Allan and rocker Sammy Hagar as Kenny walked away with the Package award for the fourth time.
In addition, Kenny claimed the inaugural Eventful Fans’ Choice Award, voted on by the general public.
Kenny’s already working on plans for his 2009 tour, which is likely to kick off in April. And he’s been considering a visit to Europe sometime in the future.
“I been touring a lot here in the States ever since 1993,” he says. “I have thought about that, about the right time to do it. I think we’re overdue, to be honest with you. We are gonna do some Canadian dates this summer comin’ up. The summer that I take a year off from the States might be the summer that I go over there and test the waters. I’ve never done it, so I don’t know what to expect. My friend Bruce Springsteen told me once I go over there and build that fan base that they will always be there, so I hope he’s right. I wanna try and do that someday.”
Bruce, coincidentally, won Top Tour and Top Draw during the Billboard Touring Awards. Miley Cyrus claimed Breakthrough Act. And “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” creators Bon Jovi collected the Humanitarian Award.
I wonder why Kenny is celebrating his No. 1 hit “Better As A Memory” so late. I mean, he has already had a No. 1 after that one. I guess because he was on tour, but I guess it really doesn’t matter why. haha.
Kenny Chesney celebrated his recent No. 1 single, “Better as a Memory,” at an industry party at Nashville’s BMI office, Nov. 24.
The party also honored co-writer Lady Goodman, who had been one of the best-kept secrets in Music City. Only recently was it revealed that “Lady Goodman” was actually Kenny’s longtime friend and former publicist, Holly Gleason. Before the event, Holly told members of the Nashville media that she kept her true identity hidden. “I wanted the song to be the story,” she said. “I didn’t want people to think that Kenny had done me a favor.” As Kenny accepted his No. 1 plaque, he took time to praise Holly. “I have never been around somebody that’s as passionate about music,” Kenny said. “I just love the fact that I get to go onstage and sing songs like this.”|
I know I’m really late with these videos and I apologize for that! I just haven’t had the time to upload them and post them, but we have them now! Anyways, here are the videos of Kenny at this year’s CMA Awards. One video is Kenny performing “Every Wants To Go To Heaven” and “Three Little Birds” with the Wailers and the other is Kenny saying his acceptance speech for winning Entertainer of the Year! Enjoy!
Kenny was one of the 50+ celebrities that took part in Project Paper Dolls, where he decorated paper dolls in the shape of a logo of the Monroe Carrell Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. All the dolls were auctioned off on eBay on November 28th all proceeds went to the hospital. Here is a picture of what Kenny did for it:
Even though I don’t live in Canada or overseas, I think this is pretty cool! I think this would be great career move for Kenny! I hope it works out!
Kenny Chesney recently noted that he would welcome the opportunity to take his live show to other countries in the near future.
Kenny has plans to perform some dates in Canada next summer, and adds that a trip overseas is possible. “The summer that I take a year off from the States might be the summer that I go over there and test the waters,” Kenny tells Dial-Global. “My friend Bruce Springsteen told me once I go over there and build that fan base that they will always be there. So I hope he’s right. I wanna try and do that someday.” Kenny expects to launch his 2009 tour in April.
GAC is doing it’s annual “Top 50 Videos of the Year’” and once again, Kenny has 3 videos you can vote for! So head on over to GAC and vote for Kenny! You can only vote once. So please spread this around to all the Kenny fans you know!!
