Kenny Celebrates a No. 1

I wonder why Kenny is celebrating his No. 1 hit “Better As A Memory” so late. I mean, he has already had a No. 1 after that one. I guess because he was on tour, but I guess it really doesn’t matter why. haha.

Kenny Chesney celebrated his recent No. 1 single, “Better as a Memory,” at an industry party at Nashville’s BMI office, Nov. 24.

The party also honored co-writer Lady Goodman, who had been one of the best-kept secrets in Music City. Only recently was it revealed that “Lady Goodman” was actually Kenny’s longtime friend and former publicist, Holly Gleason. Before the event, Holly told members of the Nashville media that she kept her true identity hidden. “I wanted the song to be the story,” she said. “I didn’t want people to think that Kenny had done me a favor.” As Kenny accepted his No. 1 plaque, he took time to praise Holly. “I have never been around somebody that’s as passionate about music,” Kenny said. “I just love the fact that I get to go onstage and sing songs like this.”|
